I’m 21 years young, and currently a full-time student at Texas State University in San Marcos. I’m majoring in journalism and work as Copy Desk Chief for the college paper, the University Star. I love journalism and cannot picture my life without it.
I received my Associate’s degree from San Jacinto Community College in 2009. I deeply enjoyed my time there and feel that my experience there added to the wonderful motivation and drive I have now.
I’m very easygoing, but I’m always on the go. If I’m not at home, I’m in class. If I’m not in class, I’m in the newsroom, and if I’m not there, I’m out covering something for the paper. I love what I do and I’ll do it for as long as I’m able.
I love life and even when I’m down in the dumps, I try my hardest to see the beauty in everything. There’s always a smile to be had, the way I see it. However, we’re all human, but I do my best for few people to see the darker side of me.
I live with my father. My parents are divorced. As odd as it seems, I prefer it that way. They are too different and I can handle them better apart than together.
I love music. I absolutely love it. Not as much as I love writing, but close enough. And I love all kinds of music. Like right now, I’m listening to jazz, but earlier on my way to work, I was jammin to Guns N’ Roses. LOL! I love all kinds of music. Except for all this new rap stuff you hear on the radio. Meh, its distasteful and too much for me. Old school rap is cool, but today’s music is a little annoying.
Anywho…I love sports. I love all sports, but have a special place for baseball in my heart. I’m a big fan of my hometown team, the Houston Astros. I know they can be better when it comes to the game, but I appreciate not hearing negative things about them. They’re the best to me.
Although I’m young, I have achieved many of my goals on my list and as I check those off, I add bigger and better goals to the bottom, so I have my work cut out for me.
Enjoy my work. It may not be as well-written as you would like, but that’s not what I’m doing this for. I’m, hopefully, writing it just for your enjoyment and interest.
